Barbara Ann King Was Born in Irvington New Jersey. She Moved to Howell, New Jersey when she was two. Barbara attended Howell High School. Her inspiration to paint in oils was her high school art Teacher Mrs.JoAnne Vona. Barbara is a self – taught artist. Barbara is always asking herself, how do you know if you are good enough to call yourself an artist.
Throughout her childhood, Barbara developed an appreciation for her majestic surroundings. She would often sit in tress for hours with pencil and pad, or sit in a meadow with a canvas. Years of artistic expression made it clear that Barbara's life would be centered upon her passion for art.
Barbara is now a professional artist full-time. She lives in Toms River with her husband Donald, and two cats, Lady and Bubba.
Her father Charles J. McMann who would let her paint murals on the basement walls of there home. Her father passed away in 1975. He was killed in a car accident and she stopped painting. Years later she started to oil paint again. Her Great grandfather was a miniature portrait painter in Hungry. To Barbara painting is like breathing.
She worked at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Barbara and her husband Donald King were the owners of Christmas & Beyond in downtown Toms River. Barbara owns her own business with her husband D&B Design. Barbara is a member of Tracx81. Barbara is a new comer to the galley scene.
