Regarding the latest installation of TRACx81 artwork at the Toms River Business Improvement District office, several issues have arisen that need to be addressed. First, drop-off and pick-up dates are the only dates that we can accept artwork. This is not our building. The BID office is generously letting us use their space as our temporary gallery. They are a very busy organization, and cannot tolerate interruptions in their work day. We have scheduled these dates to be as unobtrusive as possible, and members must adhere to them.

Second, if you have artwork hanging in the BID office, you must be prompt in picking it up. We do not have storage space, and we will not be responsible for transporting and storing members' paintings. If you have a valid reason for not being able to pick up on the dates scheduled, please contact a member of the Gallery Committee (listed below) to make arrangements at least one week prior to the posted dates.

Third, there is a TRACx81 Framing Guideline that has been issued. This addresses all aspects of exhibiting artwork associated with TRACx81, whether in our gallery at the BID office, or outside venues that are exhibiting TRACx81 artists' works. These guidelines are twofold: to assure that our representation is professional and gallery-worthy at all times; and to expedite the hanging of these works by the Gallery Committee. These guidelines are followed strictly by the Gallery Committee in order to preserve the integrity of the artwork, and also to protect the viewing public. Artwork that does not meet the criteria simply will not be exhibited.

If you have any questions, comments, or need another copy of the Gallery Schedule, Framing Guidelines, or Policies/Procedures, please contact a member of the Committee, listed below. Remember: Co-op is short for co-operative, and we need every member to work together toward the same goal, which is to promote and sell our work.

Gallery Committee Procedures/Policies

1) Art to be exhibited shall not have been done in workshops or classes, nor shall it have been done from published works (books, magazines, brochures, catalogs, Internet sources, etc.) There is to be no work reproducing another artist's work, including others' snapshots or photographs, without permission.

2) No work is to be exhibited twice in the same venue within a 2-year period. The exception is if the work is included in a solo show.

3) The Gallery Committee, also known as the Hanging Committee, reserves the right to deem works as inappropriate to exhibit in public spaces. (No nudes in Library or Toms River BID office.)

4) Exhibiting artists will sign a Title card for each piece exhibited, acknowledging that they have agreed to the Hold-Harmless Clause set forth in the By-Laws.

5) No one will remove their artwork from the gallery space without express permission from the Gallery Committee. If you commit to hang for a show, it must remain until the show is over.

6) Any pieces sold during an exhibit or as a direct result of TRACx81 exposure shall include a 10% commission to TRACx81. In addition, New Jersey 7% sales tax will be collected from the buyer, with TRACx81 acting as agent to the state
